Herman Pekel, Peter Smales and Joseph Zbukvic are members of the prestigious ‘Twenty Melbourne Painters' group, and are among Australia's top contemporary impressionist artists. This show is definitely a first for the Geelong region and not to be missed.

Herman Pekel's emphasis is always on technique, and his paintings reflect his excitement in the process of painting. This motivation has produced exceptional images in watercolour and oils, earning him over a hundred major awards.

Joseph Zbukvic is widely known for his sensitively rendered impressionist paintings, and he is a four-time winner of the Alice Bale Watercolour Prize .

Peter Smale's oil paintings are immediately recognisable, with their effortlessly captured moods and impressions of light and colour.

But it's the energy and honest beauty that take the paintings of these three artists beyond an expected reality, and this is the strong link we find in this masters group exhibition.
