Introducing a new artist to Metropolis:

"I seek for my work to facilitate in the viewer a deeper experience of Life's infinite beauty and mystery, to help others remember our already free and interconnected nature."

Metropolis Gallery is very happy to be representing emerging Australian artist Lucy Hardie in Geelong. Lucy specialises in fine pen and ink drawings and we have five works available at the gallery as limited edition giclee prints.

Born in Shepparton, Victoria, she began her education at a Waldorf school that her parents built on their farm and it was here that her artistic inclinations were fostered. Surrounded by her parent's extensive collection of art books, she became enchanted at an early age by the work of Grünewald, Repin and the illustrations by H. J. Ford and Ivan Bilibin, often losing herself in their otherworldy imagery. Lucy completed a Bachelor of Illustration at NMIT in Melbourne in 2012.

Geelong Picture Framers is a busy custom framing workshop located upstairs at Metropolis Gallery. We specialise in the conservation framing of paintings and works on paper, sentimental family treasures and memorabilia. We stretch canvases and also frame everything from posters and paintings to football jumpers and other 3D objects.

We'll help select a frame that not only enhances the work: it's important that the frame, matt, backing board and glass are going to help preserve it for many years to come.

Geelong Picture Framers turn your pictures into art!
